Living in Uganda

Our family of 5 first served in Uganda at the Peace Portal Alliance Church project in Mpigi during the spring of 2007. We arrived to meet 13 children on the 10 acres and when we left there were 52! During our 4 months there Jeff helped to build a new children's home for the many children arriving and Shannon assisted the Mama's and children with their daily routines.

We returned to Uganda in January 2008 to work with Pacific Academy Outreach Society at the Kibaale Community Centre; Jeff to assist in the maintenance of Kibaale, as well to first build a medical clinic on the property and then Timothy Centre Girls College in Masaka. Jeff moved on to become the Director in Kibaale and then the Field Director for both projects. Shannon was overseeing the guest houses; coordinating visitors and helped in the sponsorship office, as well homeschooling our children.

We also continued to be part of the project in Mpigi by being the eyes and ears for our home church.

We returned to Vancouver, BC in March 2011.

After two years we are excited for the opportunity to serve again with Pacific Academy Outreach Society, our family will be returning to Uganda in April 2013. Jeff will once again take on the role of Field Director for Kibaale and Timothy Centre, while Shannon assists with administration, the sponsorship program and overseeing the homeschooling of our children. We will both continue our involvement in Mpigi.

We became a family of 6 on April 23, 2008 when we adopted Mazzy Lee Stella from Kampala, Uganda!

Mazzy became a Canadian citizen on November 1, 2012!!
